day 7-4/6/12

What a great end to a great week! Soo sad to leave :( We started off the day by going to Buckingham Palace and we saw the changing of the guard. It was really neat! Then we took a train ride to Wimbledon!! We toured the Wimbledon tennis museum which was really fun! We saw the grass court all the tennis pros play on which was soo cool! Then we had lunch at a really good lebanese restaurant called Maison St. Cassien in the village of Wimbledon. After that, we did some shopping for the last time in Knightsbridge where there are all the designer stores. Lastly, for dinner we went to a seafood restaurant called Wright Brothers in Soho and it was really good!! So, we had a wonderful time in London and I don't want it to end!! I had such a fun time here!! I hope you liked reading my blog and I'm looking forward to blogging again on my next European trip!! Emily

P.S. - The fire alarm just went off at 12:30 - luckily it was a false alarm.

day 6-4/5/12

What a fantastic day in London! We started off the day by walking across the Millenium Bridge which was really cool! Then we went to the Tate Modern, which is a famous art museum with paintings from all over the world! After that, we went to see the Shakespeare Globe theater and museum which was really interesting! Wewere able to tour the theater and see all the work that went into putting on a play. It is still used today for plays which are only put on during the warmer months and during the day only - no evening performances. Next, we walked over to Saint Paul's cathedral which was really pretty! We went out for a late lunch at a barbecue restaurant which was delcious! It was another Jamie Oliver restaurant. Then we went to see Billy Elliott! It was amazing! The dancing and the music were awesome!! Ther theater was really nice too and reminded me of broadway in NYC! Now we are just back at our hotel. Another fun day! Don't want this trip to end!!

day 5-4/4/12

Just got back to our hotel. Today we took a train ride to Bath!! The train ride was about an hour and a half. It was beautiful there!! We took a tour of the ancient Roman Baths which were really neat! Everything was untouced from the time the Romans were there. For lunch, we went to an italian restaurant called Jamie Oliver's. It was delicious! Then I got to do some shopping because they had a lot of little shops and boutiques there too! We walked around a lot and got to see all of the pretty sights. We had a great time in Bath. When we got back to London we went out for pizza at a place close to our hotel, which was really good! Now we are just back at our hotel. Another great day in the UK! Tomorrow we're going to see te changng of the guard!

day 4-4/3/12

Another great day! today we walked through Hyde Park which was really pretty!! They have a memorial there for Princess Diana. After that, we went to the Museum of Natural History which was really cool! Then we went to a really neat area in Soho where they had a lot of shopping and outdoor markets. We ate lunch at a really good Italian Brasserie! We walked around in the Soho area and in and out the cute little shops. Then we went to Oxford Circus which is like Times Square and they were filming a movie there!! We ended the day by going out to a Thai Restaurant with my dad's friend Brian Cappillino, who is studying abroad in London. Tomorrow we are going to Bath! Talk to you soon!

Monday, April 2, 2012 (day 3)

Hi - We just arrived back to hotel after another great day in London! We did alot today. After breakfast we took a ride on the London Eye. It's about a half hour ride that takes you way up over the Thames River where you get some great views of London. We toured the British War Museum which was really interesting. It was during the time that Winston Churchill was Prime Minister of England during World War II. It was a beautiful day so we walked through St. James's Park which is alot like Central Park.. We had lunch at another English Pub - it was so good! After lunch we took the underground (train) over to the London Tower. We walked across Tower Bridge. Dinner tonight was at the hotel's new Steak House - Gilray's. It's only open to hotel guests right now. Grand opening is not until this weekend. It was so good! Took some great pic's of everything - will post tomorrow.

sunday april1, day 2

Another great day in London!! We started off the day by going to Westminster Abbey for Palm Sunday mass. It's really nice!! They buried all the British rulers in the Abbey. We also went to the Winsdor Chapel and walked around. From there we walked to Harrod's where I went shopping!!! Harrod's is the biggest department store I've ever been to!! It has everything from restuarants, ice cream parlors, clothing, makeup, cafes.....I could spend an entire day there just walking around!! We had a delicious lunch there too and amazing fudge! Then we took a taxi ride back to our hotel and went out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant-great pizza! The weather was so nice and sunny today! It was 60 degrees too! Saturday Night 3/31/2012

We just got back to our hotel a little while ago. We went for a walk by the Thames River and the London Eye. Had dinner at our hotel. It was really good! We walked around Gabriel's Warf too and took a lot of pictures by the river!! Loving it here so much! Its so beautiful!! Tomorrow we'll be going to Harrod's and Westmister Abbey!
